They don’t call it "laser precision" for nothing

Laser processing offers many benefits over conventional machining. Laser machining is a method of cutting by literally vaporizing material in a well-defined, very small path, or kerf. Although dependent upon the type of material being processed, our minimum kerf width is .001 inches. Lasers have an intense focal beam which can be manipulated to tight tolerances. The beam quite simply removes any material in its path while maintaining a minimal heat affected zone (HAZ). Different from conventional machining, complex designs can be easily realized and consistently reproduced.

A few of the benefits of laser processing include:

  • No part deformation from tool pressure
  • No tool wear or breakage
  • Minimal or no fixturing
  • Narrow kerf permits more dense layouts for more efficient material utilization and reduced secondary operations
  • The laser process is highly controllable, repeatable, and accurate
  • Non-contact process results in greatly simplified tooling
  • The combination of CAD/CAM and CNC means engineering changes can be made quickly and easily
